Position Summary:
The Marketing Communications Coordinator supports the
Communications and External Relationships team by driving key marketing,
sponsorship, advertising and public relations initiatives. This role helps shape
PBA’s brand through coordinated messaging, strong visual design and strategic
outreach. The coordinator assists with sponsorship and advertising programs,
manages press and media activities, supports bar/press committee Sunshine
Week initiatives and oversees newsletter creation and production.
This position is ideal for a creative, organized communicator who enjoys fastmoving projects, deadline-driven work and building meaningful relationships
with partners, advertisers and media.
Requirements
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations or equivalent experience.
2. Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects.
3. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
5. Proficiency in standard PC software and willingness to learn PBA systems.
6. Ability to engage effectively with members, partners and advertisers.
7. Demonstrated strategic thinking and analytical skills.
8. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and Hootsuite preferred.
Summary
Duties and Responsibilities:
In addition to performing any duties that may be assigned by the Director of Communications and External Relationships, the Marketing and External Relations Coordinator is responsible for the following:
Marketing, Sponsorship and Advertising Support
1. Assist with sponsorship development, fulfillment and tracking to ensure sponsor visibility and engagement.
2. Manage advertising operations, including researching prospects, soliciting advertisers and executing campaigns.
3. Support account management by serving as a point of contact for advertisers to ensure smooth, accurate delivery of their placements.
4. Monitor campaign performance and provide client-friendly updates to encourage renewals and repeat business.
5. Identify marketing trends and opportunities that strengthen value for sponsors and advertisers.
Public Relations and Media Engagement
1. Support PBA’s Media Response Team by coordinating responses, tracking requests and preparing materials for spokespeople.
2. Manage the annual PBA Media Awards program, including promotion, entry administration and coordination with judges.
3. Assist in planning and producing Sunshine Week content, including messaging, outreach materials and awareness-building efforts.
4. Develop talking points, press statements and draft media content as needed.
Content Creation and Brand Development
1. Create compelling marketing materials to promote PBA programs, services and events.
2. Assist with design and production of brochures, flyers, presentations and digital content.
3. Draft and prepare content for newsletters, web pages and promotional campaigns.
4. Ensure consistent messaging and visual alignment with PBA brand guidelines.
5. Create visually engaging graphics for print and digital channels using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and other design tools.
6. Maintain consistent visual identity across all PBA materials and campaigns.
