Position: Mechanic - Transportation
Pennsauken Public Schools is an urban/suburban Pre-K to 12th grade school district of
approximately 5,000 students located in Camden County, New Jersey
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct ongoing evaluations, analysis & planning in conjunction with the improvement of services & reduction of costs
- Serve as primary representative & liaison between the district and independent maintenance & service contractors
- Be fully responsible for safeguarding & protecting the district’s interests in the conduct of maintenance & repair services by outside firms
- Repair district vehicles
- Promote high standards of safety & good housekeeping methods in work connected areas
- The mechanic drive school buses with students on occasion when driver coverage is needed
Qualifications:
- Shall possess appropriate mechanical training & skills to conduct, evaluate, order & analyze all school bus maintenance repairs.
- Holder of bus driver’s license (CDL Type B with P & S endorsements) to be available to drive during emergencies or be willing to obtain one within 6 months of employment.
- Must pass NJ Criminal History Review Unit Fingerprinting requirement
Terms:
- Full Time - 12 month position
- Salary $45,000-$60,000
- New Jersey residency requirements for public employees in effect
