What are the responsibilities and job description for the Real Estate Agent (Pittsburgh, PA) position at PennInvestGroup?
Real Estate Agent - Acquisitions & Field
Pittsburgh, PA · On-Site / Hybrid
About PennInvest
PennInvest is a Pittsburgh-based real estate investment and management company focused on acquiring, rehabbing, stabilizing, and managing single-family homes and small multifamily properties. We work with U.S. and international investors and focus on cash flow, compliance, and long-term asset value.
We move quickly, make decisions in-house, and operate as a tight, execution-focused team.
The Role
We are looking for a hands-on real estate professional to support our Development team in the field and throughout the transaction process. This is not a traditional retail real estate role — you will work closely with our team to visit properties, assess homes on site, coordinate access, and help move deals forward.
The ideal candidate is either already working in Pennsylvania and willing to spend time in Pittsburgh, or open to relocating and obtaining a Pennsylvania real estate license.
What You Will Do
- Visit properties with the Development team or independently when needed
- Walk homes and assess condition, repair needs, and potential risks
- Take photos and prepare structured notes after each visit
- Coordinate showings, access, lockboxes, inspectors, sellers, and listing agents
- Support offer submission and transaction coordination
- Keep deal status current and communicate proactively
- Ensure the transaction moves smoothly from first visit through closing
- Attend closings and support handoff to rehab and operations
What You Will Not Be Expected to Do
- Cold prospect for clients or build a personal retail pipeline
- Spend time on traditional marketing or lead generation
Requirements
- Pennsylvania real estate salesperson or broker license, or willingness to obtain one
- Based in Pittsburgh or willing to relocate
- Reliable transportation and ability to visit properties on short notice
- Strong eye for condition, repair needs, and property risks
- Excellent follow-through and documentation habits
- Professional communication and a proactive mindset
- Availability to make this role a genuine priority
Preferred Experience
- Residential acquisitions or investor-side real estate experience
- Fix-and-flip, rehab, or distressed property background
- Familiarity with the Pittsburgh market
- Existing relationships with local agents, inspectors, or vendors
- Russian language proficiency is a plus
Compensation
We are open to a structure that fits the candidate’s background and licensure status:
- Full-time salary plus performance bonuses
- Part-time or flexible commission-based arrangement
- Licensed agent model with commission opportunities
- A transitional path for strong candidates willing to relocate and get licensed
Why Join Us
You will work on active investment opportunities already in motion - not cold leads or theoretical deals. Your contribution directly impacts closed transactions, and your compensation reflects that.
- Consistent deal flow from an active buyer
- Direct access to principals and fast decision-making
- A practical, execution-focused environment
- Room to grow into a senior field or market support role as the portfolio expands
