Penney High School is seeking a dynamic full-time Special Education Teacher to join our team of dedicated educators for the 2026-2027 school year. Coaching opportunities could be available as well. Penney High School is located in Hamilton, MO which is about 40 miles East of St. Joseph, MO. We have an enrollment of approximately 180 students. This position will include working as a co-teacher in a Class within a Class (CWC) situation as well as Pull-out Special Education classes.
Applicants must have strong instructional skills and an understanding of content standards at the secondary level within a teaching setting. The applicant must recognize that all children learn differently and demonstrate the ability to offer differentiated instruction to each individual student. The caseload is approximately 12 students per Special Education Teacher. PHS is on a block schedule which allows for 90 minutes of plan each day. Full Special Education Certification is preferred, but we would be willing to consider teachers with other certifications or alternative certification candidates.
