Yard Helper

Consider joining the Pennex family as a Yard Helper at our Wellsville, PA location. The Yard Helper assists in the loading and unloading of all as prime aluminum, dealer scrap, internally generated scrap and other misc. metals and coming in and all billet and log going out of the yard by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Keeps a record of materials received and used.
• Inspects incoming materials and verifies bills of lading and pack slips.
• Uses forklift, loads log and billet onto trailers and unloads prime, dealer scrap and other materials received from outside suppliers.
• Establishes or adjusts work activities to meet production schedules.
• Assists and performs the task involved in dumping trailers loaded with scrap.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
  
  
  

Ideal Candidate Will Have

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent; several years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Forklift experience required.
  
  
  

Other Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to present information in one-on-one situations to supervisor and co-workers.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Must possess a valid forklift operator’s license and have prior forklift experience.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
• Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available

The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations.
