PennEngineering is seeking a motivated, excited, individual to be a part of the Profil Waterford Team. As a Technical Buyer at PennEngineering, you’ll collaborate with teams that do truly amazing things. In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of purchasing to efficiently and cost-effectively support operations. The ideal candidate will have prior experience generating purchase orders for raw materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies. This individual will also be required to plan and schedule deliveries to optimize inventories in support of production and build schedules.

- Manage all purchasing activities to efficiently and cost-effectively support operations
- Obtain and evaluate vendor quotes, ensuring alignment with requirements and budget; generate purchase orders
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies for cost reduction and process improvements
- Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams on subcontractor bids and technical/commercial requirements.
- Select vendors based on their ability to deliver high-quality products at competitive prices and within the required timeframe, onboard new vendors if/as required
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while addressing vendor non-conformities
- Maintain accurate pricing and procurement parameters in the system
- Visit supplier facilities to monitor projects, resolve issues, and qualify new vendors
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and supplier performance
- Analyze market trends for cost-saving opportunities and risk mitigation
- Support PPAP, trial orders, and compliance with technical specifications
- Coordinate with finance on payment terms and invoicing issues
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to effectively manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts
- Utilize critical thinking and analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve procurement challenges

Requirements
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- 5 years experience purchasing in a sub-contract, manufacturing, fabrication or project environment
- Must have prior experience generating all purchase orders for raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or Business Administration
- Microsoft Office proficiency with an emphasis on excel
- Solid judgement and decision making skills
- Highly motivated and self-directed
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Exceptional negotiation skills
- Must have strong ERP experience with SAP, JDE or other widely used platform
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management required
Safety

- Create and maintain a safe work environment; repair and/or report non-conformances to company safety policies and guidelines.
- Air-conditioned office; goes into manufacturing facility periodically.
- Able to sit or stand for 8 - 10 hours a day.
