Our manufacturing division in Winchester, VA manufactures high-end grout mixers, pumps, and silos for the heavy foundation and other construction industries.
We seek an Equipment Sales Representative who ensures that customers receive reliable, high-performance equipment that supports safe and efficient operations on job sites, while meeting or exceeding the company’s sales targets and contributing to long-term growth.
What you will do:
- Close and grow equipment sales through professional communication with existing and prospective clients.
- Identify new opportunities, expand market awareness, and clearly communicate product features and benefits.
- Maintain knowledge of competitor products and gather intelligence on pricing, features, and market strategies.
- Research market requirements and trends to support strategic planning and product positioning.
- Train customers and other sales staff on equipment and operational processes.
- Participate in assembly or repairs when required.
- Perform other special projects or duties assigned to support business needs.
- Maintain current knowledge of all company products, equipment capabilities, and pricing structures.
- Remain familiar with company inventory systems and tools used in order management.
- Gather feedback to identify new product opportunities or improvements to existing lines.
- Submit required sales reports (activity, pipeline, closings, follow-ups, progress toward goals).
- Submit quarterly customer visit plans and coordinate scheduled client meetings with clear follow-up actions.
- Ensure legal documents are issued to customers and returned copies are submitted for proper filings
- Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure customer project requirements are met.
- Prioritize build efforts in collaboration with manufacturing.
- Communicate sales opportunities, customer requests, and product feedback to internal teams for continuous improvement.
- Provide technical guidance during the sales process, including product capability explanations, equipment demonstrations, and solution recommendations.
- Prepare detailed quotes, RFP/RFI responses, and technical presentations or webinars.
- Offer installation best-practice guidance and technical assistance to solve equipment-related challenges.
- Provide inside sales support for parts, machines, and tooling orders.
- Manage and interpret customer requirements by speaking directly with clients to understand and anticipate their needs.
- Identify and resolve client concerns, recommending solutions to prevent future issues.
- Maintain awareness of relevant client information (future plans, payment performance, operational needs) and communicate key details internally.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, requirements, and contact information.
We seek a candidate with:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or business is a plus but not required.
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in heavy construction, industrial equipment, or related industries.
- Familiarity with construction equipment, machinery, or tools; technical aptitude to understand product capabilities and applications.
- Demonstrated ability to manage customer relationships, interpret project requirements, and provide technical guidance.
- Experience preparing quotes, responding to RFPs/RFIs, and presenting solutions to clients.
- Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, service) to meet customer needs.
- Experience attending trade shows, conferences, or other marketing/sales events is a plus.
- Knowledge of inventory management or order tracking systems, preferred.
- Experience in construction or industrial safety standards and compliance, ideal.
- Prior experience providing technical support or training to customers, highly desired.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and project locations as needed, required.
- Must possess valid state driver’s license as the position requires travel to client locations and for prospecting meetings
