SENIOR HR PORTFOLIO RESOURCE POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior HR Portfolio Resource will be an innovative and ownership-minded resource and will accelerate results and provide guidance to multiple home health and hospice agencies. This position will support agencies in multiple states to deliver HR best practices, and consultation and on appropriate resolution related to HR compliance matters, multi-state operational HR initiatives, training, incentive programs, leadership development and coaching related to best employment practices and risk management. The Senior HR Portfolio Resource will be a key member of the Pennant HR Team and will drive cultural excellence around our core values. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: Operationalize strategic direction for the HR function in portfolio(s) assigned to ensure goals and objectives are aligned with portfolio and companywide initiatives. Develop, recommend, and ensure effective implementation of HR plans, systems, and training programs necessary to meet strategic initiatives for the entire employee life cycle, including recruiting, onboarding, and retention. Passionately embrace and practice our core values and guide and train the organization in the management of employee relations within those core values. Understand the core business and unique needs of our home health and hospice operators; serve as an advisor and thought partner to portfolio leadership teams and drive best practices. Develop and participate in the development and education of leadership in the management of Human Capital within our core values and regulatory requirements of our business with a focus on mitigating organizational risk and creating a work environment of mutual trust and respect based on CAPLICO. Develop relationships of trust and maintain regular dialogue with Pennant leaders and portfolio stakeholders to recommend appropriate new processes, policies, procedures and continual improvements in employee satisfaction, employee retention, quality of client care, and safety. Demonstrate a solid understanding of multistate and federal employment law. Support operational leaders in the overall leadership of the HR function as a key member of the service center team. Work closely with the expanded HR team to design organizational efficiencies and improved programs to ensure high levels of employee satisfaction and retention; reinforce a culture of excellence, ownership, and accountability. Provide operational oversight and ensure governance for all facets of the HR compliance function in the portfolio(s) assigned; oversee, influence, and accelerate agency results to meet and/or exceed HR metrics. Plan, implement, and monitor the consistent readiness of internal and external surveys and audits. Ensure the integration of direct and indirect teams and strive to improve workflows and efficient day-to-day HR support for field operations. Leverage new and existing technologies to improve decision making. Lead multiple projects and collaborate with cross functional teams. Establish goals, define deliverables, obtain feedback, balance resources, and manage timing expectations; proactively identify and address complex roadblocks. Support Acquisition activity for Cornerstone entities. Analyze people data such as employee survey scores and turnover statistics. Recommend and facilitate actions in response, in partnership with local agency and its leaders. Participate in investigations of HR-related complaints and documents investigation and resolution; report any incidents of non-compliance or high-risk actions to the Director of HR, and/or the Compliance Partner. Adhere to all company policies and procedures. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with 42 CFR Part 2 and all other policies, procedures, and standards of care. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION: SHRM certification and bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business, or another related field. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible exempt level experience in human resources, with a healthcare discipline; at least five (5) years in a leadership capacity. Demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain internal and external relationships in an ambiguous and fast paced environment while maintaining focus on execution and results. Must be able to extract and understand information from multiple segregated data sites. Detail focused and ability to set appropriate priorities amongst multiple competing demands. Expert knowledge of state and federal employment compliance regulations including wage and hour, state and federal leave laws, workers compensation, hiring requirements, etc., specific to the portfolio assigned. A positive, flexible, and caring personality who displays professional empathy, good judgment, inspires confidence, and handles confidential matters with discretion. The ability to support an environment that has multiple shifts and significant staffing ramps to support growth in current, and future, geographic locations. Must be organizationally savvy; able to develop leaders and staff, and provide direct, transparent feedback. Social ease and demonstrated ability to build relationships with a variety of people and personality types. Experience with Workday and HCHB strongly preferred. Must have a valid drivers license and safe driving record. PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Excellent writing skills as well as superb interpersonal and verbal communication skills; a master at presenting information, ideas, and results is critical. Excellent critical thinking skills and organizational abilities. Strong mentoring, and coaching experience to a team with diverse levels of expertise; ability to influence and engage employees and peers. Ability to effectively operate as a tactical as well as a strategic thinker. Proficient at analyzing information and dealing with complexity. Quickly and effectively identify and resolve problematic situations. Able to handle confidential material in a reliable manner. Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism. Ability to effectively prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct manager for HR support staff. Responsible for evaluating the performance of personnel.
