Job Summary
Under the direction of site administration and/or maintenance and operations, the Substitute Custodian performs routine cleaning, sanitation, and light maintenance to ensure a safe, clean, and orderly school environment. This position is on-call and fills in for regular custodial staff during absences. The Substitute Custodian is responsible for maintaining classrooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas; setting up and breaking down spaces for school events; and supporting the overall daily operations of the site. Duties may include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, disinfecting surfaces, emptying trash, and reporting safety or maintenance concerns. This role requires flexibility, reliability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The Substitute Custodian contributes to a positive school environment by supporting the health, safety, and comfort of students, staff, and visitors.
Requirements / Qualifications
Requires passage of Post Offer Pre-employment Physical Exam, clear TB, DOJ fingerprint clearance, valid California Drivers License. Complete classified application and 1 current letter of recommendation.
