JOB SUMMARY:
U nder the direction of the Penn State Health Director of Safety, the Regional Safety Supervisor is responsible to assess, perform and supervise regional safety processes, including injury investigation, building safety inspections, indoor air quality, safety policy review, ergonomics, safety training, driver safety programs, designated respiratory fit testing, asbestos, noise monitoring, employee exposure control monitoring, safety committee, and monitor and document applicable safety processes for the safe delivery of care and regulatory compliance. Directly supervises, leads and coordinates daily activities of Safety employees. This position collaborates with regional clinical and non-clinical leadership regarding problem identification and resolution to improve safety and health.
M INIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree required.
5 years of experience in an acute care hospital or other related field managing related occupational safety and health programs required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Knowledge in responding to emergencies.
Knowledge of HICS.
Ability to work and communicate under pressure, handling multiple commitments with poise, professionalism, maturity, and confidence.
Knowledge of presenting building inspection reports.
Ability to develop and execute educational programs for a multi-disciplinary team of clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
Presentation, education and communication skills that ensure that stakeholder are able to understand, utilize and apply the information provided.
Project management, follow-up and organization skills that allow the individual to successful initiate and complete assigned projects and initiatives.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified Hospital Safety Professional (CHSP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Credentials preferred.
Experience In a Multi-hospital System Preferred.
CMS Maintenance program knowledge preferred.
Knowledge and training in environment of care preferred.
