Academic Core Faculty Physician
Penn State Health – State College, Pa.
Penn State Health-State College is currently seeking a full time BC/BE core faculty physician for our Family and Community Medicine Residency Program located in beautiful State College, Centre County, PA (better known as Happy Valley) – home to Penn State University’s main campus. The Penn State Health Family and Community Medicine Residency at Mount Nittany Medical Center is a collaborative effort of Penn State Health, nationally recognized in medical education, and Mount Nittany Health, a leader in central Pennsylvania healthcare.
Our Family and Community Medicine program strives to provide and train residents to learn time-sensitive acute and chronic primary care that is comprehensive, compassionate, coordinated, and high-quality. Unique among its national counterparts, the State College program trains residents in an innovative longitudinal curriculum in which resident rotations are scheduled in one and two-week blocks as opposed to traditional month-long rotations. This model provides a framework for continual learning across all medical disciplines inherent to family medicine. The program, which is ACGME-accredited with Osteopathic Recognition, boasts a 100% American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) board pass rate among its graduates.
Resident training is based at Mount Nittany Medical Center, a 260-bed acute care hospital adjacent to the residency outpatient clinic. The medical center is nearing completion of a 300,000 square-foot, 10-floor patient tower that will provide state-of-the-art single occupancy, acuity-adaptable patient rooms. In addition, the 350-million-dollar expansion will include new resident work, rest, and didactic space, which will continue to be a major recruitment tool for future family medicine residents.
