We’re looking for a talented Heavy-Duty Transmission Technician - a driven, self-motivated professional who delivers top-quality service and builds strong customer relationships.
*Cross training for Detroit Diesel, Carrier Refrigeration, and Fleet repair available*
Requirements
What You’ll Do:
- Diagnose and repair heavy-duty vehicle transmission issues, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on transmissions, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Disassemble, inspect, and repair transmissions, differential systems, and associated components.
- Rebuild and reassemble transmissions to manufacturer specifications.
- Test repaired transmissions and perform necessary adjustments to meet operational requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
- Communicate with management and team members regarding repairs, estimates, and recommendations for additional services.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Stay current on industry advancements and technologies.
What You Bring:
- Experience diagnosing, repairing and maintaining transmissions in a shop, fleet or road side assistance (minimum 3 years preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle systems, including transmissions, hydraulics, and powertrains.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with both manual and automatic transmission systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical service manuals and schematics.
- Your own tools and a good driving record
Nice to Have:
- CDL (Commercial Driver's License)
- ASE Certifications
