Are you an ICU physician seeking a dynamic and rewarding telemedicine opportunity? Penn Medicine’s Elert® program invites you to join our onsite team as a tele-intensivist at the Penn Rittenhouse campus in Center City Philadelphia. This unique nightshift role places you in the heart of our state-of-the-art command center, where you will virtually monitor and advise on patient care across all ICU beds within the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
As a tele-intensivist, you will work alongside a multidisciplinary group of expert colleagues, including teaching attendings and fellow intensivists, delivering advanced clinical support to 26 ICU units spanning seven hospitals. Your clinical expertise will help manage variations in care, uphold system-wide clinical excellence, and ensure superior outcomes for patients in neuro, trauma, surgical, medical, cardiovascular, and other critical care units.
This role offers an exceptional platform for professional growth, especially for early-career intensivists. You’ll develop wide range of clinical expertise while sharpening healthcare administration and leadership skills by guiding care throughout the health system and actively participating in quality improvement initiatives. Minimum Requirements
- Board-certified critical care Intensivist, ideally with a telemedicine subspecialty
- Strong decision-making, systems thinking, and computer literacy, including two-way remote AV communication
- Understanding of multidisciplinary critical care environments and ICU operations
- Visual acuity, keen hearing, clear speech, and manual dexterity; ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Onsite presence required at Penn Medicine Rittenhouse campus; this is not a remote position
