The Transplant Administrative Team is seeking a new team to join their team! We are hiring a Data Coordinator.
Summary:
- Under direct supervision maintains responsibility for providing support to transplant clinical staff in terms of data retrieval, scanning and data entry for outside records and lab results, and general clerical assistance. May work with projects or programs across the Penn Transplant Institute (PTI) on data provision, reporting or auditing and assist with the development of processes and workflows.
- Essential Accountabilities Collection and entry of outside medical records, labs and studies in the current hospital EMR. Duties include but not limited to scanning, order and lab result data entry and validation to ensure clinicians have accurate data for patient care.
- Adapts to new workflow modalities and adapts to a paperless environment for efficient record management. Collaborates with clinical team and RN Coordinators, quality/safety/regulatory team and peers to manage workload prioritization per established timelines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to create reports and data visualization to meet team goals. Compiles quality/safety/regulatory data for QAPI KPIs or programmatic dashboards.
- Maintains turnaround time (TAT) of data entry within 24 -48 hours with at least 95% accuracy. May assist with record filing, preparing documents for archive, supporting clinical, quality and regulatory programs / projects. Coordinate and organize programmatic conferences and committees for Continuing Medical Education (CME) and associated logistic and data tracking. Participate in PTI policy and protocol review and assessment including posting and communicating policy updates. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned and/or directed by supervisor or administrator.
- Non-Essential Accountabilities Assist with data collection and analysis for research projects Assist with pulling and copying reports for regulatory and government agencies as needed. Collaborate with and maintain open communication with the transplant staff to facilitate and ensure compliance with department goals and objectives
- Greets patient and co- workers in a friendly, respectful and informative manner.
- Communicates effectively and appropriately with co-workers, supervisors and other hospital employees
- Maintains patient and family confidentiality. Discusses patient information in private area at appropriate times
- Responds with empathy to patient, families and other staff members
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
- Education Specialization: Equivalent Experience:
- And minimum of 6 months to 1 year experience in data entry and medical terminology
