Position Description:
Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join their Inpatient Palliative Care Program. Palliative Care specialists provide pain and symptom management, psychosocial support, and advance care planning for patients and families facing serious illnesses. The inpatient palliative care clinician is responsible for working as a consultant throughout the hospital, visiting directly with patients and families and offering recommendations to the primary healthcare team. Our interdisciplinary team collaborates to provide expert patient- and family-centered palliative care focused on the patient’s psychosocial, spiritual, and medical needs. Consultations cover all acute care settings, including general medical-surgical floors, specialty units, and critical care units. The APP will provide expert symptom management and guide crucial discussions with patients and families to promote a personalized, comprehensive care plan that aligns with patient goals. The APP will also participate in daily inter-professional palliative care team rounds to support the interdisciplinary practice model and to facilitate team communication and collaboration.
Hours: Full-time, 1.0 FTE. Hours are 8am - 4:30pm, Monday-Friday. M-F. No weekend rounding. No holiday requirement. Rotate call with other providers typically every 5-6 weeks. Manageable call.

Position Requirements:
Nurse Practitioner - Preferred
- Valid Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner license and Certificate of Prescriptive Authority in Pennsylvania
- Certification by ANCC or other qualifying agency in area of specialty required (Adult Gerontology Acute Care NP or Acute Care NP certification required)
- Valid Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum one-year experience as a Nurse Practitioner is preferred
- Current licensure as a Physician Assistant by PA Board of Medicine
- Graduate of Accredited Physician Assistant training program
- Minimum one-year experience as a Physician Assistant is preferred
