Job Description
V. QUALIFICATIONS :
- PURPOSE OF JOB :
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate orientation for new nursing associates.
- Demonstrates knowledge of nursing practice guidelines and equipment. Facilitates educational programs to assure compliance with hospital standards and the Nurse Practice Act as well as regulatory standards and evidence-based practice.
- Communicates in a variety of settings with nursing Associates and other members of the healthcare team to achieve excellence in patient care through ongoing staff education.
- Utilizes analytical skills to creatively develop and revise orientation and education programs for nursing Associates.
- Demonstrates clinical proficiency and maintains knowledge base of hospital policies in order to serve as a clinical resource and mentor to the staff.
V. QUALIFICATIONS :
- Education: BSN required, MSN preferred, professional certification in area of specialty preferred
- Experience: Three years' clinical experience
- Other Skills: Teaching experience
