The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for:
- Oversight and coordination of medical care for people supported, including:
- attending medical appointments and hospital visits, supporting hospital/rehab discharges, and train team members on new procedures
- actively participating in hospital discharges, ensuring team members are trained on any changes or new procedures
- obtaining medical equipment and supplies
- coordinating equipment inspections and repairs as needed
- assisting with medication management and coordinating with pharmacies
- liaising with medical providers and team members, other support staff
- reviewing medical documentation for accuracy and ensuring recommendations are implemented
- HRST
- obtain HRST Clinical Reviewer Certification
- complete timely Clinical Reviews
- review and apply training recommendations in coordination with operations supervisors
- Training
- manage PA Medication Administration initial training and ensure timely revalidation for all PA team members
- support Penn-Mar's Learning & Development team by facilitating organizational training as needed
- Provide thorough training in tasks including feeding tube procedures, vital signs, nebulizer treatments, lifts, oxygen therapy, specialized diets, etc.
- Responding to after-hours calls and messages from direct support team members, providing clinical direction as needed
- Following all incident reporting based on state requirements in a timely manner
- Actively participating in ODP or PAR nursing related meetings/groups
Minimum Requirements:
- Hold a Pennsylvania RN license
- Valid driver's license with at least 2 years of driving experience on a full license (time spent driving on a learner's permit/provisional license does NOT count toward this requirement)
- High School Diploma/GED
- One year of nursing experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Lift and carry or otherwise move items weighing 20/50 pounds regularly/occasionally
- Transfer or assist in transferring individuals
- Adequate visual acuity to perform essential functions
- Read, write, and speak English to communicate with individuals and team members
