We are looking for a dedicated Gear Design Engineer to join our team and drive excellence in the production of gears and our other products for our customers. This new position will be a gear expert within our Engineering department to support both of our facilities (Johnstown, PA and Blairsville, PA) to: Design, develop, and optimize gear manufacturing processes, including machining, hobbing, grinding, and heat treat Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure quality and performance standards Select appropriate tools, materials, and machines for gear production Design fixtures and special tooling to support manufacturing Implement and support continuous improvement and Lean initiatives Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to resolve manufacturing challenges Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for gear-related and product issues Stay current with industry trends, gear standards (e.g., AGMA, ISO), and emerging technologies Requirements for successful candidate include: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field 5 years of experience in high volume gear manufacturing Experience in generated heat treat recipes, metallurgical experience and gear design required Solid understanding of gear types (spur, helical, bevel, etc.) and gear cutting methods Familiarity with CNC machines, CAD/CAM software, and gear design software Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, Black belt certification is a plus. Excellent opportunity with a proven and growing company.
