High School Spanish Teacher

QUALIFICATIONS:          

1. A Bachelor’s degree and valid PA Foreign Language or World Language K-12 in Spanish required.
2. Working knowledge of curriculum and concepts in area of certificate, child growth, developmental patterns, student behavior characteristics, skilled in classroom management, lesson design and educational trends. 
3. Ability to utilize a variety of instructional strategies to motivate students in the classroom. 
4. Effectively supervise and mange students so that they feel safe and secure.
5. Knowledge of current educational trends. 
6. Ability to communicate effectively with good oral and written form with students, parents, agencies and staff members.
7. Follow all District and building policies, processes, procedures, rules and regulations consistently. 

PERFORMANCE ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

1. Plans and prepares daily lessons that are designed based on formative assessment data and follows the prescribed curriculum.  Those planned lessons must include a variety of instructional methods for the purpose of addressing individual student learning styles.
2. Develops assessments that accurately reflect what a student should know, understand and be able to do and provides feedback to the student, parents and administration in a timely manner 
3. Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress regularly.  Moreover, the teacher counsels students for the purpose of improving academic performance regarding their performance.
4. Collaborates with instructional staff, other school personnel, parents and others for the purpose of improving the overall quality of student learning
5. Manages student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment that maximizes instructional time.
6. Monitors students in a variety of educational environments for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
7. Participates in a variety of meetings and professional development activities for the purpose of growing as a professional educator.
8. Reviews and implements all Specially Designed Instruction (SDI’s) and modifications for students with a learning disability in the classroom.
