What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nuclear Medicine Technologist position at Penn Highlands Healthcare?
AS A NUCLEAR MEDICINE TECHNOLOGIST, you will ensure the efficient function of the Nuclear Medicine Unit by performing diagnostic imaging or therapy, utilizing radiopharmaceuticals or isotopes, computer quantitation, film processing, and clerical duties under the guidelines set by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Pennsylvania Department State license. The Technologist will assist the Radiologist in various exams, perform quality control on all equipment, mix radiopharmaceuticals, dispose of decayed radioactive waste, assist in scheduling of exams, maintain all appropriate records accurately, and practice radiation safety.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of an accredited nuclear medicine technology program required
- Must possess certification in nuclear medicine from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and/or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
- Healthcare Provider CPR certification required within 6 months of start date
