- One year of billing experience in a Hospital Patient Accounting Department, Physician Medical Billing Office, or relevant post-secondary training is required.
- Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute and possess strong organizational, filing, and numerical skills.
- Self-starter who works well independently and carries out duties with tact, understanding, courtesy, accuracy, and efficiency in a caring and compassionate manner, in accordance with the hospital’s Guest Relations program.
- Ability to work effectively with the public under demanding and stressful circumstances.
- Knowledge of medical insurance types and their various requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is required
- Working knowledge of the CPS Patient Accounting/Registration system is preferred.
