What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Surgical Technician (CST), Operating Room position at Penn Highlands Healthcare?
Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse and within the scope of their practice, the Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) provides patient care and performs appropriate segments of the prescribed medical regime for an assigned group of patients and effectively interacts within patients, significant others, and other health care team workers while maintaining standards of care.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Graduate of Surgical Technologist Program required.
-Surgical Technologist certification (NBSTSA, or NCCT) within 6 months after graduation from an accredited surgical technology program; Healthcare Provider (CPR) certification within 6 months of start in department/position.
-Previous surgical services experience preferred, not required.
