What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Financial Analyst position at Penn Engineering?
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Provide leadership with clear insights into drivers of business growth, risks, and opportunities
- Gather and assess financial results. Prepare financial reporting deliverables and explain trends and business drivers. Uncover areas that are underperforming.
- Execute financial due diligence projects.
- Determine appropriate valuations of investment projects through detailed analysis (e.g., modeling ROI, IRR, payback period).
- Analyzes past and present financial data of the organization and estimates future revenues and expenditures, applying principles of finance. Runs and documents financial analysis projects.
- Aids organization with financial functions, such as assessing, auditing, planning, budgeting, taxes, consolidation, cost control, and project control. Evaluates and analyzes capital expenditures, depreciation, proposals, investment opportunities, rate of return, profit plans, operating records, financial statements, etc.
- Analyzes records of present and past operations, trends, and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred to project future revenues and expenses.
- Documents revenues and expenditures expected and submits to management.
- Assists in the preparation of special studies, analyses, and recommendations in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, statistical reports, and business forecasts.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or similar
- 3-5 years of financial analysis experience in investment banking, management consulting, financial planning, and/or corporate strategy is preferred
- Experience working in finance within a plant or operations is highly preferred
- Ability to develop PowerPoint presentations and work within other Office365 products such as Excel.
- The ability to spot patterns in numbers
- JD Edwards E1 (JDE) preferred

PennEngineering is seeking a motivated, excited individual to be a part of the PEM Finance Team. As a Senior Financial Analyst at PennEngineering, you’ll collaborate with teams that do truly amazing things. In this role, you will report to our Director of Finance. You will be responsible for analyzing key business performance metrics and identifying internal organic performance improvement opportunities. Additionally, you will work with the Director of Finance to assess the balance sheet to determine the best plan of action for capital structuring (e.g., refinancing, raising debt/equity) as well as investment decisions (i.e., what our highest ROI projects are). As someone with strong financial acumen and the ability to turn numbers into insights, you will be a pivotal team member expected to help maximize shareholder value.
