What You Will Do:
The Davenport Operator C is responsible for operating multi-spindle automatic screw machines to produce precision metal components in accordance with engineering drawings, quality standards, and safety requirements. This role works under close guidance from a Team Leader, Troubleshooter, or Trainer/Mentor and supports efficient, high-quality production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Operate assigned multi-spindle automatic screw machines to perform machining operations, including turning, facing, drilling, boring, reaming, tapping, threading, and forming.
- Follow all safety policies, standard operating procedures, and quality requirements.
- Produce parts meeting print specifications and quality standards.
- Read and interpret part drawings, machine manuals, and tool charts.
- Inspect parts using gauges and measuring tools and make basic machine adjustments.
- Assist with machine setups under supervision.
- Perform first-piece inspections and take corrective action when required.
- Communicate machine or quality issues promptly.
- Maintain bar stock levels to prevent downtime.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping.
- Complete production, quality, and time documentation.
- Collaborate with operators across shifts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
What We Are Looking For:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Blueprint reading preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude strongly preferred.
- Prior manufacturing or screw machine experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand 8–12-hour shifts.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and machine access.
- Visual acuity sufficient for inspection and measurement (near vision 20/30).
- Lift to 40 lbs. regularly; occasional lifting to 75 lbs.
Work Environment:
- This role is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, moving parts, metal chips, coolants, and noise. Compliance with safety procedures and PPE requirements is mandatory.
