Basic Purpose and Objective
The purpose and objective of the Tech Support/Service Technician is to solve the customer’s problem as expeditiously as possible, maintaining a positive company image.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide superior service to the assigned US customers, before and after the sale to maintain loyal, satisfied customers
- Diagnose & troubleshoot issues with installation heads, fastener feeders, and electropneumatic kits (in-die & manual operations)
- Travel is required, multiple overnights and weekends are sometimes required
- Start up and confirm the functionality of new applications as required
- Assist in training of the customer base and presentation of clinics
- Provide up-to-date reports of activity in your assigned customer accounts
- Build long-term positive relationships within your customer accounts
- Look for competitive products in your customers’ plants and report on same
- Provide support to the Quality Department to assist in field problems
- Promote sales of PROFIL tooling division
- Special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Work Environment:
- Air-conditioned office and works in an unairconditioned manufacturing facility
- Requires travel 25-50% in the surrounding states.
- Overnight travel may be required
Physical Demands:
- Able to sit or stand for 8 - 10 hours a day
- Ability to lift to 30 lbs.
Education and Experience Required:
- Associate's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent technical degree preferred
- 3-5 years’ successful service experience working with mechanical and electrical components
- Practical knowledge of HMI/PLC (Allen Bradley & Siemens)
- Basic computer knowledge in word, excel and basic cad experience
- Self-motivated, organized, communicator, strategic thinker, problem solver, listener, capable of responding to customers’ immediate needs
- Ability to read drawings
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills
Position Type/Expectations of Working Hours
- Full time position
- Regularly scheduled to work 8 – 10 hours a day
- Must be able to work Monday - Friday
