What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Penn Compression Moulding?
Minimum Requirements:
Must be able to demonstrate core competencies of mechanical aptitude, tool use and general electrical wiring from day one. Knowledge and understanding of hydraulics and PLC programming and troubleshooting is a plus.
Purpose of position:
Reports to Maintenance Manager and/or Plant Manager. Helps ensure the viability of molding equipment, auxiliary equipment, and utility equipment is functioning as intended. Assist in preventative maintenance schedule for all critical pieces of equipment. Perform general facilities maintenance as required.
Working Conditions:
Working inside 95% and outside 5% of the time. Works in seasonal temperatures (hot in the summer and cold in the winter) that may vary.
Physical Abilities Requirement:
- Manual and finger dexterity
- Lifting, pushing and pulling as much as 50 lbs
- Reaching into a press (usually at chest height) and reaching forward 25% of the time
- Walking 40% and standing 60% of the time
- Bending & twisting the next and trunk
- Hand & grip strength required to utilize tools, grab objects and grip items
- See objects and persons at a distance o Depth perception and visual acuity
- Pushing & pulling of wheeled carts on uneven floor surfaces
- Driving of Forklifts
- Climbing ladders
Duties
- Perform press and auxiliary equipment maintenance duties including reactive and preventative maintenance to critical equipment. Includes performing hydraulic and electrical problem solving and corrections.
- Assist in determining critical equipment and set-up preventative maintenance schedule for all critical equipment
- Perform general facilities maintenance. Includes internal projects not sub-contracted.
- Reacts to fluid spills and oil leaks. Clean up and fix problem that caused leak or spill.
- Participate in all training activities and train employees as needed.
- Follow all company safety polices and practices.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Programmable Logic Controllers: 1 year (Preferred)
- Industrial maintenance: 2 years (Preferred)
