Peninsula Volunteers, Inc. (PVI), a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to enabling seniors to age in place, is seeking an experienced and compassionate Program Manager to oversee daily operations within our Adult Day Services program at Rosener House.
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring exceptional care, strong staff performance, and engaging, person-centered programming for older adults—many of whom are living with dementia and complex health needs.
Position Overview
The Program Manager serves as the operational leader on the floor, overseeing care delivery, staff coordination, and daily program execution. This individual ensures a safe, structured, and supportive environment while modeling best practices in dementia care, behavioral support, and participant engagement.
This role requires a leader who is confident in managing behaviors, guiding staff in redirection techniques, and maintaining a calm, solutions-oriented presence in a dynamic setting.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Floor Operations
- Oversee daily operations of the Adult Day Services program to ensure high-quality care and participant safety
- Maintain consistent program flow, structure, and engagement throughout the day
- Step in as needed to support direct care and de-escalate situations
Staff Leadership & Development
- Supervise, coach, and mentor program aides and activity staff
- Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and ratios
- Provide real-time guidance on dementia care, redirection techniques, and behavior management
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and compassion
Participant Care & Experience
- Ensure individualized, person-centered care for all participants
- Support staff in managing dementia-related behaviors with dignity and respect
- Partner with families and leadership to address participant needs and concerns
Activities & Engagement
- Oversee the planning and execution of meaningful, structured daily activities
- Ensure programming supports cognitive stimulation, physical movement, and social interaction
- Continuously evaluate and enhance program quality and engagement
Compliance & Quality
- Maintain adherence to licensing requirements, safety protocols, and organizational policies
- Support documentation, reporting, and communication with internal teams
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in Adult Day Services, senior care, or a related field
- 1–2 years of supervisory or management experience
- Strong knowledge of dementia care, behavioral interventions, and redirection techniques
- Proven ability to manage staff, schedules, and day-to-day operations
- Calm, confident leadership style with strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Passion for working with older adults and supporting caregivers
Salary : $32 - $36
