Salary: $60 - $90 HourlyJob DutiesParticipate as a team member in support of the total perioperative processAdmit patient to perioperative setting & conduct pre-operative patient interview, assessment, and education, counseling, and testingExplain informed consent for surgery and answer any questions the patient/family members may haveCommunicate team members regarding changes in the OR schedule (time, procedure, add-ons, move-ups, and late arrivals), patient/family special needs/concerns, and staffing changes/problemsAdminister medications and perform safe, individualized care for the patientsEffectively communicate with the team, physicians, and patient family members regarding the patient's statusDevelop a plan of care to meet patient's needs related to surgical conditionConfirm that proper techniques and procedures are used according to accepted standards of practiceMaintain order and cleanliness of postoperative areaObtain lab tests and results as indicated; report abnormal values per policyExplain postoperative plan of care to the patient/patient's family including what to expect during the recovery phase and how the family plays a rolePerform postoperative telephone contact to assess patient's post-op status and provide further education and advise as neededRequired Education and License/CertificationAssociates level degree from an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor's level preferredActive RN California LicenseCurrent AHA BLS/ACLS CertificationQualifications and SkillsMinimum two (2) years experience in the recovery room at an acute care facility preferred (in the last five years); Orthopedic experience preferred.Experience in the post anesthesia recovery requiredASC experience preferredStrong ethical and moral character referencesAbility to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, physicians and with their office personnel, coworkers, and other healthcare facilities in a positive, respectful, and considerate mannerAbility to promote favorable facility image with physicians, patients, and general publicAbility to make decisions and solve problemsLanguage skills adequate for high-level written, interpersonal, and telephone communication in American EnglishElectronic Medical Record experience; EPIC experience preferredBenefitsEmployer paid Medical, Dental, and VisionEmployer paid Life & AD&D InsuranceVacation, Sick, Education, and Jury Duty Time Off Accruals7 Paid Holidays401k with Profit SharingM-F Variable Shifts
