Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Histology Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the preparation and analysis of tissue samples for diagnostic purposes. This position requires a strong foundation in laboratory techniques and a commitment to patient care within a clinical laboratory setting. The Histology Technician will work closely with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate specimen processing and analysis.

Duties

  • Perform laboratory techniques related to the preparation of histological specimens, including embedding, sectioning, and staining.
  • Process and analyze tissue samples collected from various sources, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of specimen collection, processing, and results in compliance with medical terminology standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure the quality and integrity of specimens for diagnostic purposes.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist in phlebotomy procedures as needed, ensuring patient comfort and safety during specimen collection.
  • Participate in quality control measures and contribute to research laboratory initiatives as required.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in laboratory techniques relevant to histology or similar fields.
  • Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the clinical setting.
  • Familiarity with specimen collection processing methods is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory environment is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently while adhering to strict protocols.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality patient care through meticulous attention to specimen handling.
