For more than 75 years, the Peninsula Jewish Community Center (PJCC) has worked to inspire a sense of community in San Mateo County, home to over 37,000 Jewish residents. Situated between San Francisco and Palo Alto, with a 12-acre home in Foster City, the PJCC’s goal is to provide programs and services that reinforce the values and traditions the Jewish community embraces, while also serving the broader community.
The PJCC is seeking a Senior Director of Marketing who will lead, execute, and optimize the PJCC’s full range of marketing and communications initiatives with a strong focus on driving revenue and enrollment across all major program areas, with particular emphasis on preschool, summer camp, membership, and fundraising. The Senior Director of Marketing must be both a tactical executor and an operational leader who ensures marketing initiatives move efficiently from strategy to implementation, driving measurable outcomes. The successful candidate will refine the PJCC’s value proposition and consistently articulate its impact in community and donor-facing messaging. Experience with applying AI-driven insights to improve marketing efficiency, messaging relevance, and conversion outcomes is highly valued. This leader will also contribute to the organization’s sustainability, visibility, and reputation by delivering clear, compelling, and data-informed marketing that advances the PJCC’s mission and revenue goals.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Senior Director of Marketing combines strategic insight with hands-on execution and is ideal for a team player who excels at rolling up their sleeves to make things happen.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Lead and execute organization-wide marketing and communications efforts to drive revenue and enrollment across major program areas
- Develop integrated marketing and communication strategies aligned with the PJCC’s mission, strategic priorities, and revenue goals, using audience segmentation and market insights to tailor messaging across diverse business models
- Leverage AI and emerging marketing technologies to strengthen targeting, personalization, workflow efficiency, and campaign performance
- Prioritize initiatives using differential resource allocation (time, talent, and budget) to ensure the highest-impact projects receive focus and support
- Collaborate across departments to identify and activate opportunities that increase visibility, engagement, and revenue for programs and services
- Guide and support the marketing team through clear priorities, coaching, and hands-on leadership
- Monitor, analyze, and report on marketing performance to senior leadership, providing insights that inform strategic and operational decisions

Salary Range: $150,000 - $175,000

- Bachelor’s degree required
- 10 years of marketing experience; 4 years in a supervisory role
- Proven ability to drive revenue through integrated marketing, audience segmentation, and multi-channel campaign execution
- Experience using AI and emerging marketing technologies to enhance targeting and efficiency
- Strong strategic thinking, data-informed decision-making, and effective project/time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate clear value propositions to diverse audiences
- Demonstrated leadership in complex or multi-service organizations; nonprofit experience preferred
- Skilled at fostering collaboration, providing constructive feedback, and inspiring high performance
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce or similar CRM experience a plus
- Familiarity with faith-based community centers and/or interest in Jewish community building
- Willingness to work onsite five days a week, with occasional evenings/weekends as needed
