Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor residents’ health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and maintaining accurate care plans
- Provide medication reminders and assist with medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks tailored to individual dietary needs, ensuring proper food handling and safety standards
- Support residents during recreational activities, social engagement, and community outings to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms, common areas, and equipment through regular cleaning routines
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts safely to assist with mobility and prevent injury
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, home health, nursing home, or group home settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia (including Alzheimer’s), or memory care needs is desirable
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks as needed for resident support
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, residents, and families
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to provide high-quality patient care in a respectful manner
