What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmic Technician position at Peninsula Eye Physicians?
Position:
We are looking for a team-focused ophthalmic technician to join our fast paced ophthalmology practice. The right candidate must be friendly, works well with both children and adults, an excellent communicator, and takes pride in patient care. Additionally, the right candidate records accurate patient data, seeks to produce high quality testing, thrives in a team oriented environment, and is reliable. 1-year experience desired, but we are willing to train someone with current medical assisting experience.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Testing: Visual Field, OCT, Fundus, IOL
- Pre-testing and medical history
- Maintaining/cleaning/scheduling repairs of ophthalmic equipment/machines
- Exam room maintenance (cleaning, organizing, restocking)
- Assisting with administrative duties as needed: Appointment scheduling, call/fax prescriptions, scrubbing schedule/preparing charts
Experience with Epic software also a plus.
