General Security Officer Responsibilities may include:
- Patrol premises to establish & maintain a visible presence.
- Stationary desk posts for access control.
- Monitor & authorize entrance of vehicles &/or people.
- Check & secure exits, doors, windows, etc.
- Monitor surveillance cameras.
- Respond to on-site issues which may arise.
- Provide assistance as needed.
- Submit reports of daily & important occurrences

Summary of Job Description:
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to maintain security of premises
- Conduct regular patrols to ensure the safety and security of the facility
- Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences
- Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons
- Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles
- Escort individuals to specified locations or provide personal protection as needed
