What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Residential Care and Support position at Pendleton Place?
Full Time Schedule!! Two schedules available
Monday - Friday 2 PM- 10PM
Overnights - 6PM - 6AM Wed, Saturday and Sunday
Residential Direct Care Staff provide direct, trauma-informed care to residents 24-hour residential setting serving youth and young adults including routine wellness checks ensuring the safety, comfort, and supervision of all residents.
Essential Duties:
· Resident Engagement & Support
Build positive relationships with youth and young adults through supportive, respectful interaction. Provide redirection that fosters personal growth, promote emotional and physical well-being, and respond to trauma-based behaviors using de-escalation and safety interventions when needed.
· Daily Structure & Residential Operations
Maintain a structured, safe, and clean living environment. Carry out the daily schedule, assist with intakes and discharges, supervise residents during awake hours, and complete hourly checks overnight. Support educational routines and independent living skill development, including hygiene, nutrition, and medical care.
· Activity & Calendar Coordination
Implement and contribute to the monthly activity calendar. Coordinate and participate in recreational, social, and life skill activities such as holiday events, games, and shared meals. Monitor the residential calendar and plan daily activities accordingly.
· Learning & Life Skills Support
Supervise schoolwork and support a structured learning environment. Assist with educational goals and provide coaching in life skills to prepare youth for independence.
· Meal Preparation & Household Duties
Plan and prepare meals/snacks aligned with nutritional guidelines. Shop for groceries and supplies as needed, manage food inventory, and maintain kitchen cleanliness. Share meals with residents to promote community and rapport.
· Facility & Safety Oversight
Ensure the residence is clean, well-maintained, and fully stocked. Monitor for safety risks such as trafficking, substance use, and flight concerns. Report repair or supply needs to the Program Manager in a timely manner.
· Medication Administration & Documentation
Distribute medications per protocol and maintain accurate logs. Complete documentation in agency systems, maintain client files, and provide timely written observations to support case management decisions.
· Collaboration & Communication
Attend team meetings, respond to internal communications (emails, signage, etc.), and participate in case staffing when requested. Coordinate transportation for youth as needed.
· Policy & Program Adherence
Apply agency policies and behavioral tools (e.g., TCI, ICMP, Shelter Operations Handbook) appropriately
and consistently. Remain proficient in required software and complete all required training (minimum 14 hours annually).
· All other duties as assigned .
