Pendleton Place is seeking a hands-on Finance & Accounting Manager to manage the day-to-day financial operations of a nonprofit serving youth experiencing homelessness, foster care, and family instability.

This is a working accounting position for someone who is comfortable preparing reconciliations, managing transactions, supporting grant reimbursement, maintaining accurate records, and preparing financial information for review.

The Finance & Accounting Manager will work directly with the Executive Director and partner with an experienced outsourced controller. The controller will provide final review of reconciliations and financial reporting, technical guidance, and coaching to support the Manager’s continued professional growth.

  • Process accounts payable, deposits, revenue, and supporting documentation.

  • Prepare bank, credit card, and balance-sheet reconciliations for final controller review.

  • Prepare grant reimbursement requests and governmental drawdowns.

  • Track grant budgets, expenses, match requirements, and supporting documentation.

  • Support payroll processing and maintain payroll records.

  • Assist with monthly close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow preparation.

  • Prepare schedules and documentation for the annual audit and Form 990.

  • Help strengthen financial procedures, internal controls, and accounting workflows.

  • Partner with program and leadership staff to ensure accurate financial coding and documentation.

We’re Looking For

  • A nonprofit accounting professional who enjoys hands-on financial work.
  • Someone who takes ownership, follows through, and meets deadlines.

  • A detail-oriented problem solver who researches and resolves discrepancies.

  • Someone who can manage multiple grants, funding sources, and reporting requirements.

  • A professional who values feedback and is interested in continued growth in nonprofit financial leadership.

  • The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial staff.
