Applications Support Specialist

The Applications Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support and guidance to users for various software applications. This role collaborates with the IT team and external vendors to ensure a high level of performance and reliability for all users.

To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential 

duty satisfactorily and in a timely manner. The following duties are representative of the

          Identify and document application issues in a timely manner.

          Provide technical support to end users.

          Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve application/software issues, performing root cause analysis for recurring problems.

          Manage and maintain user access to software.

          Act as a liaison between IT, business partners, and vendors.

          Collaborate with stakeholders and IT staff on enhancements, changes, and training.

          Conduct application testing, support client testing, and summarize test data.

          Assist in developing and testing new software features.

          Create reports, dashboards, and workflows for software applications.

          Stay updated on application modifications and enhancements through release notes.

          Work closely with IT staff and service providers in a team environment.

          Drive improvements in application support processes.

          Manage support tickets through resolution.

          Be available for occasional night and weekend work.

The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the job but are not all inclusive. 

           4-year degree, mid-level certifications, or equivalent experience.

          1 years of experience in application support or a similar role.

          Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.

          Strong customer service skills.

          Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with users to resolve issues positively.

          Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

          Strong organizational and time management skills.

          Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on end-user success.

          Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 

          Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

          Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

          Computer literacy with excellent Office 365 skills.

          Ability to make timely recommendations to solve problems using independent judgment consistent with standards, practices, policies, and procedures.

          Self-starter with proven ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work to meet short-term and long-term goals with minimal supervision.
