We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in assisting the dentist during a variety of dental procedures while ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our patients. This is a full-time position offering competitive compensation and benefits.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Assist the dentist during procedures by passing instruments, operating suction equipment, and providing chairside support as needed.
- Take and process dental X-rays as directed by the dentist.
- Perform patient assessments, including recording vital signs and reviewing medical histories.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-operative instructions, and preventive dental care.
- Assist with dental laboratory tasks, including pouring impressions and trimming models.
- Maintain compliance with infection control and sterilization protocols.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and professional clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Previous dental assisting experience preferred.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and dental procedures.
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus.
- Familiarity with dental insurance and treatment coding is preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification is required.
