What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator/Maintenance Custodian position at Pembroke Public Schools?

1.Shall routinely operate, perform, and thoroughly understand the plan processes and equipment and be capable of making adjustments as necessary to ensure compliance of the plant’s D.E.P. permit.
2.When necessary, shall carry out maintenance, adjustments and repairs of various plant equipment.
3.Shall routinely perform and thoroughly understand laboratory tests and procedures.
4.Must follow all applicable safety practices.
5.Must maintain required Training Contact Hours (TCHs).
6.Shall thoroughly understand the plant process and equipment.
7.Operators shall be familiar with recording, record-keeping, and reporting procedures.
8.Must be capable of following both oral and written instructions and be capable of giving both oral and written instructions.
9.Must know how to operate a variety of hand and power tools and possess a good mechanical background.
10.Performs all other duties contained in the back-up wastewater treatment plant operator, custodian, outside maintenance, and maintenance job descriptions.
11.Other related duties as may be assigned by the Head Custodian and Principal.
12.Must be capable of working independently, work well with others, and know how to use a personal computer and have general knowledge of data acquisition equipment.
13.Must be available for scheduled overtime on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
14.Must have a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License.
