Job Goal: To assist teacher with providing classroom instruction.Required: 1. Associates Degree or equivalent amount of college credits from an accredited post-secondary institution. 2. Experience working with children in an instructional setting.
3. Basic knowledge of curriculum, instructional practices. 4. Good communication skills verbally and in writing.
5. Ability to work with diverse learners across settings. 6. Flexibility and comfort with transition and varied responsibilities.
7. Ability to work well with others.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assists teachers in classrooms by providing indirect instruction and support to students. 2.
Assists with the supervision of playground, bus boarding activities, cafeteria and corridors. 3. Works under the direct supervision of teaching staff to implement special education and general education programs by providing both individual and small group support. 4.
Provides behavioral, social and daily living skills support to students as assigned. 5. Alerts staff to any problem or special information about an individual student. 6.
Assists with clerical work in teachers classroom, library, office, and other appropriate workstations. 7. Support students in school-sponsored community activities 8. Accompanies a sick or injured child when appropriate.
9. Assists in maintaining workroom area and machines. 10. Assists with snack and cleanup routine.
12. Assists with library functions: book collection, dissemination and record keeping. 13. Performs clerical work related to record keeping for district and state reports.
14. Any other duties deemed appropriate and assigned by the Principal or Director of Student Services.Monday - Friday 7 hours per day
