What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Teacher/Reading Teacher position at Pembroke Community Middle School?
Successful candidate will possess the appropriate MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license in special education and have experience working with middle school age students with special education needs, including academic, behavioral, social and emotional. The candidate will provide special education students with appropriate learning activities and assignments designed to address intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth. Develop and modify curricula and prepare lessons and instructional materials according to ability levels and in alignment with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. The candidate will be responsible for their assigned caseload of students, including participating in IEP meetings, updating IEPs, and completing progress reports.
Orton-Gillingham training required; additional Wilson Level 1 Certification preferred.
Responsible for instructing students individually or in groups to enable students to develop literacy skills.
Able to coach teachers as needed on best literacy practices within the classroom.
Salary : $67,876 - $111,687
