What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Pellet Technology USA?
POSITION PURPOSE:
Primary responsibility is to provide service, repair, and upkeep on equipment and rolling stock.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
- Repair company equipment including shop equipment and rolling stock.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on equipment.
- Make repairs on small hand tools, send tools for maintenance as necessary.
- Repair minor building items as necessary.
- Remove snow as per on-call schedule.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment; adhere to Pellet Technology’s environmental compliance policy.
- Use preventative maintenance database to create work orders and properly register completed work orders.
- Report accidents and repairs as required.
- Willingness to take on other responsibilities as assigned and needed to successfully contribute to the development of Pellet Technology USA as a company and growing entity.
- Responsible for production of safe animal feed and adherence to internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).
Education/Certification: High school diploma required
Required Knowledge & Experience:
- 2-3 years performing industrial maintenance or mechanic work required.
- Knowledge of carpentry, maintenance and safety required.
- Knowledge of equipment mechanics and maintenance required.
Skills/Abilities:
- Able to effectively maintain organization and take initiative with projects.
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures, including the safe and proper use of equipment and materials.
- Basic Welding and fabrication skills.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:
Must possess current driver’s license with no restrictions. Ability to sit for long periods of time. Able to view computer screen for lengths at a time. Must be able to speak and listen clearly. Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy. May be exposed to loud noises, wet and humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals, extreme hot and cold depending on weather conditions.
PHYSICAL STRENGTH:
This job may require lifting of up to 50 pounds continually.
