What are the responsibilities and job description for the Window and Door Install Technician position at Pella Windows & Doors of Oklahoma?
Job Summary:
The Install Technician is responsible for performing aspects of both Install and Recovery. The Install Technician will install Pella product, diagnose and repair Pella product, read contract documents, provide timely documentation and communication to relevant stakeholders, and help lead an Installation team to provide high-value service to internal and external customers. Depending on the team assignment, individual skill level and experience, the Installation Technician will spend a variable amount of time on Installation or Recovery work.
Schedule and Availability:
- Weekdays during normal business hours from 7am to 4pm
- Some overtime as required and approved by management
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Install
- Install windows and doors with proper Pella install procedure
- Operate job site equipment (Lifts, Lulls etc.)
- Maintain trucks and tools assuring all materials are ready for jobs
- Follow all OSHA guidelines as well as job site best practices
- Perform quality control measures for each job
- Regularly communicate with Project Managers about project status
- Record updates on Company Cam about needed materials and job status
- Ability to read contract documents
- Overseeing work of other team members and coaching as necessary
- Confirm proper material per job requirements
- Ensure ownership of jobsites and champion FTC
- Performs all other duties as necessary or assigned
Recovery
- Must be able to develop a strong understanding of Pella products and their applications
- Diagnose and repair Pella products of various styles and vintages
- Meet with customers to look at vintage or new products
- Identify the part that is damaged or causing customer issues
- Bring information to the Project Manager to order required parts as necessary
- Record updates on Company Cam about job status
- Ability to read contract documents
- Confirm proper Pella product is accounted for and verified per contract specifications
- Ensure ownership of jobsites and champion FTC
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:
- One year in construction industry required
- Six months of window and door experience required
- Trim carpentry experience preferred
- Ability to train use of power tools
Mathematical and Reasoning Skills
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Proficient in reading and interpreting tape measure
- Ability to solve practical problems
- Ability to work in fractions and decimals
Computer Skills:
- Must be familiar with smart devices
- Ability to learn and utilize proprietary Pella software programs and other business critical applications
Communication Skills:
- Ability to communicate via phone and email in a timely manner
- Strong customer relation skills
- Ability to communicate regularly with appropriate company stakeholders
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, type or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
- The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, or crouch
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Must be comfortable with heights as some jobs may include ladder or scaffolding work
