The Project Estimator / Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting the commercial sales and operations teams through accurate project estimating, proposal preparation, project coordination, scheduling, and customer communication. This position plays a key role in ensuring commercial window and door projects are estimated accurately, processed efficiently, and completed on time while maintaining strong relationships with contractors, architects, and end users.
Key Responsibilities
- Review commercial project plans, specifications, and bid documents for Pella Products of Kansas.
- Prepare detailed and accurate material takeoffs, estimates, and quotations for commercial projects.
- Coordinate with Sales Representative, Pella Architectural Services and internal departments to obtain pricing and product information.
- Assist sales representative with submittals, change orders, RFIs, and project documentation.
- Prepare and review project contracts into an executable form.
- Track project timelines, deliveries, and installation schedules to ensure successful project execution.
- Communicate with customers, general contractors, architects, and field personnel regarding project status and requirements.
- Maintain organized project files, bid records, and correspondence.
- Identify potential project risks, discrepancies, and cost impacts during the estimating phase.
- Ensure all estimates and project activities align with company standards, specifications, capabilities and deadlines.
Qualifications
- Understanding of commercial construction documents, blueprints, and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external teams.
- Previous experience in commercial construction, estimating, project coordination, or the window and door industry preferred.
- Understanding of construction scheduling and jobsite activities.
- Customer service and relationship-building experience.
- Ability to read architectural and shop drawings.
- Experience with estimating software, Adobe BlueBeam preferred.
- Experience with Salesforce CRM/ERP software preferred.
