We are seeking an experienced Construction Site Superintendent to represent the prime contractor on a federal construction project at Fort McCoy, WI (Elevator Installation – Building 6058).
This is a short-term / part-time role with immediate start. The superintendent will serve as the on-site representative of the prime contractor and ensure compliance, coordination, and daily oversight of subcontractor activities.
Responsibilities:
Act as on-site superintendent representing the prime contractor (Pelican National Contracting)
Provide daily on-site presence during active construction work
Coordinate with subcontractors (elevator, electrical, and general trades)
Interface with Government/DPW representatives
Verify work progress, safety compliance, and adherence to specifications
Maintain daily reports, site photos, and activity logs
Communicate updates to project management team
Requirements:
Prior experience as Superintendent on federal or commercial construction projects
Strong understanding of construction sequencing and jobsite coordination
Ability to communicate with Government personnel professionally
OSHA 30 preferred
Ability to be physically present on-site during scheduled work
Duration:
Immediate start – duration aligned with active construction phases (estimated several weeks/months depending on progress)
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate (DOE) – flexible structure (1099 or contract)
