Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Inventory/Transportation Driver to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the inventory of medical supplies and transporting patients to their appointments in a safe, reliable, and timely manner. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, a clean driving record, and a dedication to patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of medical supplies and equipment.
- Organize inventory storage and ensure that supplies are readily available for patient needs.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and assist with the ordering process to replenish supplies as necessary.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to identify and fulfill inventory needs promptly.
- Patient Transportation
- Safely transport patients to and from medical appointments, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the journey.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.
- Assist patients in entering and exiting the vehicle and ensure that they are secured within the vehicle.
- Maintain communication with healthcare staff regarding patient arrival and any special requirements.
- Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate records of transportation logs, inventory counts, and delivery schedules.
- Report any discrepancies or issues related to inventory or patient transportation to management immediately.
- Customer Service
- Provide exceptional customer service by being empathetic, respectful, and attentive to the needs of patients.
- Address any concerns or inquiries from patients or their families in a professional manner.
- Maintenance and Compliance
- Ensure the vehicle is maintained according to safety standards, including regular inspections and servicing.
- Adhere to all healthcare regulations, confidentiality policies, and best practices related to patient interaction and vehicle operation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics, healthcare, or related fields is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in a driving or logistics role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with medical supplies and equipment inventory management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
