Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and customer-focused Lead Pharmacy Technician to join our growing independent community pharmacy in the State of Florida. Our pharmacy specializes in retail pharmacy services and 340B program operations, with a strong focus on exceptional customer service, teamwork, patient care, and business growth. This is not a traditional corporate retail environment—we are looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, compassionate, and willing to help build and expand an independent pharmacy business.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead daily pharmacy technician workflow and support pharmacy operations efficiently.
· Provide outstanding customer service to patients, caregivers, providers, and healthcare facilities.
· Assist pharmacists with prescription processing, adjudication, refill coordination, and prescription intake.
· Support 340B pharmacy program operations, inventory management, and compliance processes.
· Perform data entry, insurance billing, prior authorizations, and claim troubleshooting.
· Maintain inventory levels, order medications and supplies, and monitor medication shortages.
· Ensure compliance with Florida Board of Pharmacy regulations and company policies.
· Train and mentor pharmacy technicians and support staff.
· Coordinate patient follow-up calls for refill adherence, medication synchronization, and customer satisfaction.
· Handle workflow issues professionally while maintaining a positive team environment.
· Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation.
· Assist with delivery coordination, packaging, and patient communication when needed.
· Support marketing and relationship-building efforts with physician offices and healthcare providers.
· Help create an efficient, patient-centered culture focused on growth and quality service.
Qualifications & Requirements
· Active Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician license required.
· Minimum 2–3 years of retail/community pharmacy experience preferred.
· Independent pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
· 340B experience preferred but willing to train the right candidate.
· Strong knowledge of pharmacy workflow, insurance billing, and customer service.
· Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Experience with pharmacy management systems and pharmacy software.
· Professional attitude with a willingness to grow the business.
· Reliable attendance and strong work ethic required.
