Weekend Evenings & Groundskeeper - Environmental Services Technicians (NE and SE DC)

Job summary: We are looking for professional, reliable Environmental Services Technicians who take pride in maintaining clean and safe conditions in a men’s residential facility. This is an active, hands‑on position that involves steady movement and independent work. This role is ideal for individuals who are seeking weekend only work and who can dependably show up for their weekend shifts.

Schedules/Roles:

• Weekend role: Schedules may consist of one or two weekend days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Shift windows: 3pm-11pm, 5pm–11pm. Final assignments will be based on coverage needs.
• As‑Needed Role: Shifts (day or evening) may be offered based on operational requirements. These shifts may be provided on short notice or with advanced notice. No guaranteed hours.
• Outdoor Sanitation & Groundskeeper (Southeast only): Shifts 7am-9am, Monday-Sunday (only 2 hour shifts). Two groundskeepers will share these shifts, and the final day‑to‑day schedule will be set once both hires are in place.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional attitude, communication style, and appearance
• Clean, sanitize, and disinfect administrative areas, dormitories, dining areas, common spaces, lobbies, hallways, elevators, laundry spaces, and outdoor areas
• Clean and disinfect restrooms and shower rooms (deep cleaning as needed);
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors and stairs; dust vents and assigned surfaces
• Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors
• Remove trash and properly dispose of waste
• Respond to cleaning needs or situations that arise during the shift
• Follow safety procedures when handling bodily fluids or unsanitary conditions
• Complete shift opening and closing tasks; restocking supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned

For the Outdoor Sanitization & Groundskeeper role (Southeast only):

• Maintain outdoor grounds, including sweeping and debris removal
• Clean exterior areas such as entryways, walkways, outdoor structures, booths, parking areas, trash‑compacting areas, and loading zones
• Move wheeled trash carts; empty, compact, and securely tie trash bags so they do not come loose inside the trash cans
• Power wash outdoor surfaces, including concrete areas, trash cans, park benches, and other exterior equipment as needed
• Follow established safety procedures and use provided PPE
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Experience

· Preferred: 2-3 years of professional commercial cleaning experience

Required Qualifications

· This is a safety-sensitive, essential personnel position.

· Must complete background checks and drug/alcohol screenings. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee selection. Hiring and employment decisions are at the full discretion of the Company.

· Weekend and holiday availability required

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Ability to work professionally in an environment that involves interactions with residents experiencing a range of support needs.

· Preferred OSHA Awareness and knowledge of safe mopping techniques, sanitation standards, PPE Use, cross-contamination prevention, Bloodborne Pathogens, chemical safety, biohazard response, and sharps safety.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

· Active Role — This is an active role requiring frequent movement throughout a large facility, including multiple floors.

· Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, and lift 35-40 lbs

· Ability to open and close wide trash compactor doors and move wheeled trash carts

· Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and following safety instructions

· Staff may encounter a variety of cleaning‑related tasks and environmental conditions that require awareness of safety procedures.
