Duties
- Supervise and care for children across various age groups, including infants, toddlers, and school-aged children, ensuring their safety at all times
- Plan and facilitate educational activities that promote childhood development, social skills, and creativity
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment that supports learning and play
- Implement behavior management strategies to encourage positive interactions and discipline when necessary
- Assist with feeding, diapering, and personal hygiene routines in accordance with health guidelines
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about children’s progress, needs, and daily activities
- Support special education needs by adapting activities and providing individualized care when required
- Administer basic first aid in case of minor injuries or emergencies, following established protocols
Experience
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development stages
- Familiarity with infant care, toddler care, and preschool activities is highly desirable
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team of caregivers and educators
Hours
- We are currently looking for part-time to full-time daycare workers for the hours of 10AM-6PM
This role provides an opportunity to develop your skills in childcare while making a lasting difference in children’s lives. This role also provides the opportunity to receive free childcare through the State of Iowa's Child Care Assistance program.
