Direct Care Staff (Residential Treatment Facility)

Summary:
Pegasus Schools, Inc. is hiring Direct Care Staff (DCS) to mentor and supervise boys ages 10–17 in a residential treatment setting. This is a hands-on role where you’ll provide structure, safety, and positive guidance to youth who have experienced trauma.

No experience? No problem—we provide paid training and certifications (CPR, First Aid, CPI). What matters most is your reliability, strong character, and ability to be a positive role model.

Starting pay: $14/hr | Full-time | 4-day work week

Schedules:

Option 1:

• Sunday: 6am–10pm
• Monday–Wednesday: 2pm–10pm

Option 2:

• Wednesday–Friday: 2pm–10pm
• Saturday: 6am–10pm

Responsibilities:

• Maintain continuous line-of-sight supervision of assigned residents
• Interact with residents during daily routines (hygiene, meals, chores, school transitions, and recreation)
• Respond quickly to escalating behaviors, medical issues, or emergencies
• Implement crisis de-escalation and emergency behavior interventions as trained
• Emphasize trauma-informed care principles, cultural responsiveness, and youth protection in all interactions and interventions
• Accurately document incidents, interventions, and daily logs in compliance with licensing standards
• Complete and submit reports in a timely and accurate manner
• Maintain certifications and attend required training sessions

Qualifications:

• Must be 21 years or older
• Must have valid Driver's License or Identification Card
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Must pass Health and Human Services Commission background checks,
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening, and Tuberculosis skin test (TB)

Physical Requirements:

• Walk 3–5 miles daily and supervise outdoor activities
• Stand, bend, kneel, and climb stairs throughout shift
• Lift up to 50lbs when needed
• Remain on feet for extended periods (8 hours)
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
