What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Specialist position at Pegasus Manufacturing LLC?

At AeroFlow Technologies, we specialize in creating complex tube and duct assemblies using high-performance materials capable of withstanding extreme pressure, temperature, and chemical interactions. You can even find our products aboard NASA’s Space Launch System and in the F-35.

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to support the enhancement of our Quality Management System and drive customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include participating in audits, evaluating suppliers, integrating quality plans into manufacturing processes, and contributing to the development of lean product validation methods.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist Quality Manager in the development and maintenance of Quality Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Responsible for creating certification packages for outgoing product.
  • Responsible for Specification maintenance & updating .
  • Assist with the company’s Quality System/conduct internal audits per AS9100 requirements.
  • Maintain & update equipment-calibration database.
  • In conjunction with Purchasing dept., manage approved supplier listing and measure and chart supplier performance.
  • Review outside vendor certifications for compliance to specification requirements
  • Facilitate and promote the use of appropriate problem-solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and successful corrective action.
  • Coordinate with internal groups such as Engineering, Inspection, Manufacturing to resolve customer complaints.
  • Ensure internal non-conformances and corrective/preventive actions are completed in an effective and timely manner.
  • Coordinate with leads & supervisors to conduct employee training & maintain records thereof.
  • Perform other duties as needed in accordance with quality system requirements.

KEY INITIATIVES:

  • Continuous Improvement– Identify job specific and general area improvements to supervision. Consistently improve the safety, organization and cleanliness of assigned areas (5S).
  • Quality –work with leads/supervisors & shop personnel to identify areas of concern of product quality, and what/how to improve.
  • Workforce Development – Identify training needs (or opportunities) to supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year’s experience in the aerospace quality field; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Understand and interpret blueprints, specifications, operations sheets, etc.
  • Understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Computer literate (Windows, MS Office, E-mail, etc.)
  • Self-starter who is comfortable with hands-on activities.
  • oriented, collaborative, and solutions-driven- a skilled negotiator who can balance legal compliance with practical business needs and help drive AeroFlow Technologies forward.
